Here are three easy ways to tap into the healing power of your feline companion:
1. Spend some time each day just looking at, listening to, and talking with your cat. This helps release those “feel-good” biochemicals that help you relax.
2. Rub your cat the right way. Learn to give your pet a therapeutic massage for some one-on-one time that will soothe both of you.
3. Engage in purposeful play with your cat and you might discover that you can let go of daily stress more easily, breathe more deeply, and laugh more freely.

Pets have healing powers that we really should acknowledge. People with dogs have reduced levels of stress, depression and heart risk. In general they are happier and better equipped to handle what life throws at them through their connection with their pet.
In other words…consider this a written prescription for you to adopt a pet and make both your lives happier and healthier!

Horses are very sensitive to the slightest change in their surroundings. With eyes on the sides of their head rather than on the front, they rely heavily on other senses to know what is happening around them. Humans have long forgotten how to live in their whole body instead of exclusively in their head. To truly slow down, recognize the gifts you have been given and open yourself to reconnect with mother earth…Visit one of the world’s most amazing spiritual healers; a horse.

Though living with parrots is a messy and intense responsibility, for a true bird lover this relationship is extremely rewarding and offers much in the way of emotional healing. Whether a bird has mastered vocalizing in human tongue or not, they are very verbal companions and terrific listeners.
Only a parrot parent truly understands when I say having a conversation with a parrot is nearly as comforting as talking to a good friend.
