Did you know that Hamster pups (that's what baby hamsters are called) are born blind and don't open their eyes for two to three weeks?
That a hamster's front teeth (incisors) never stop growing and that's why they chew so much?
And, that hamsters have incredibly poor eyesight? In order to get around, and make it back 'home again', they have scent glands on their back which secrete a unique
and identifiable smell. They rub their back on objects as they move around and follow the scent trail back to get home again.

Turtles, Lizards, Snakes and Fish Lover Holiday Cards
PAWSitive Thoughts ...
There are over 8,000 species of reptiles living on planet earth on every continent with the one exception of Antarctica where the temperatures are too cold.
Reptiles, unlike mammals, can not regulate their body temperature and therefore must heat their body via external sources, like rocks warmed by the sun for example.
This is why they are called 'cold-blooded'.
Consider that reptiles are the longest-lived creatures on the planet when you make the decision to get one as a pet.
Some turtles live to 150-years, alligators live nearly 70-years and some snakes up to forty-years.
