People have a tendency to bathe their dogs more frequently than needed which can be harmful to their coats as it washes away the skin natural oils.
Most dogs are best served with a bath (or grooming session) no more than once a month, or even better, every two-months.
Their are some exceptions in that a handful of breeds have oily coats and may need bathing more often,
however in these unique situations you should use a baby shampoo or non-detergent shampoo to keep their skin from drying out.
